About

I am a 26 year old girl working through some hard stuff, both mentally and physically.

I recently got through my fiance’s year-long deployment to Afghanistan and we got engaged February 26, 2011, about a month after his return home. He got out of the Army and took a  job in southern California. We moved here in March 2011 from my home-state of Colorado. We are getting married in Colorado on June 23, 2012.

I have a lot of dreams and am trying to overcome a lot of things to pursue them, particularly an inflammatory nerve disorder I developed three years ago that as yet has no known cause. This blog is a lot about that, my struggles along the way, and trying to find peace and enjoyment in life again.

Right now I am a cook, cleaning lady, manger of our household, constant brainstormer of a career that would work for me with my disabilities, and dog-mom to my 1-year old pug. I am obsessed with the British royal family, and my life dream is to meet (or even catch a glimpse of) Princess Kate, as I call her, even though I know she is really the Duchess of Cambridge. This obsession has recently expanded to include the other royal families of Europe. I love to read (especially historical fiction), learn, watch reality TV, swim, and be outside.

I blog to inspire myself, meet others and find inspiration, and keep focused on my goals during this difficult time. Thanks for stopping by.

  1. Hi!

I am wondering if you and your boyfriend live in Colorado Springs? That is where my hubby and I are right now. I also have a BS in Biology and was diagnosed with Celiac Disease about 2 years ago. I can totally sympathize with your tummy problems and only recently have I begun to have foot/knee/heel pains. I wish you the best of luck in your journey, and if you do live in the local area and wanted to meet up for lunch or anything some time, just let me know!

If you need GF recipes or products, check out my blog :-) You won’t sacrifice flavor for functionality with these. Take care!

  2. Thanks for the comment on my blog! I look forward to reading yours. I spent years studying French and even studied abroad in a French speaking country, but I have lost so much of my conversational skills. Grr! Colorado is such a beautiful state. I have only been twice, but I would love to go back. When does your boyfriend get back? I hope tge time passes quickly for you!

    • My greatest regret is not studying abroad in college, and I don’t usually regret things! I thought I wouldn’t be able to graduate in 4 years since my major was biology and they are so different, but looking back, who cares?! Thanks for stopping by…my boyfriend gets back in January 2011. I miss him so much but I am going to see him in Thailand on his leave in October for 10 days. :)

  3. Nice to “meet” you! I saw your comment to me on the Eat Move Love blog and thought I’d check out your blog. Looks like I have another blog to follow is all I can say. You have some great goals and nice book club list, so those alone interested me. I’ll have to keep reading!
    Best,

    • I’m just now getting up to speed and see that he is back…duhhhh….. I’m back tracking your posts! I may start from the beginning to make it easier..lol. Anyway, so happy for you! I bet after you hugged him you didn’t want to let him go!

  5. Thanks for stopping by my blog–I look forward to reading more of yours! I’m sorry to hear about your pup passing last year but at least you still have interaction with them, I would love to do volunteer work with doggies. I have a little poodle.chihuahua who I love to pieces!!

My best friend is in the Army and moving to Colorado next month, I can’t wait to visit her!

  6. Hi! Thank you for your lovely comment on my blog! I’m sorry to hear you’re going through a rough time, but I’ve experienced that blogging can be real support, so I hope it will be for your as well! All the best for reaching your goals and living a happy life! :)
